Claro brings Samsung Galaxy Z8 series to Puerto Rico

Claro Puerto Rico announced the arrival of Samsung’s new generation of foldable smartphones, with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8 now available across its retail locations and online store.

The 2026 Galaxy Z lineup combines Samsung’s foldable form factors with Galaxy AI, bringing expanded artificial intelligence capabilities to productivity, entertainment and mobile connectivity.

The Galaxy Z Fold8is positioned as the lineup’s productivity-focused model, featuring an 8-inch main display, a 4.1-millimeter profile when unfolded and a professional camera system with a 200-megapixel main sensor and 8K video recording.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 offers a lighter design aimed at immersive mobile use and includes a 50-megapixel dual-camera system.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip8 features Samsung’s compact foldable design, integrating Gemini Intelligence into its external FlexWindow display and a 50-megapixel camera powered by the company’s ProVisual Engine.

Launch Offers Target New and Existing Customers

As part of the Puerto Rico launch, Claro is offering promotional pricing to both new and existing customers on eligible unlimited plans.

The 256GB Galaxy Z Fold8 is available at no additional device cost and without a trade-in after a $1,500 promotional discount distributed over 30 monthly installments, according to the company.

The 256GB Galaxy Z Flip8 is similarly available at no additional device cost and without a trade-in after $900 in promotional credits over 30 months.

The 256GB Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is available without a trade-in for $23.33 per month, following $1,000 in credits applied over 30 installments, subject to eligible plan requirements.

“At Claro, we are committed to giving our customers access to the most innovative technology from the very beginning, and the arrival of the new Galaxy Z series reaffirms that commitment,” said Enrique Ortiz de Montellano, president and CEO of Claro Puerto Rico.

Ortiz de Montellano said pairing the devices with Claro’s mobile network is intended to support the phones’ AI capabilities, entertainment features and connectivity.

Claro also highlighted recent network recognition from Opensignal for mobile coverage in Puerto Rico and from Opensignal and Ookla for 5G video experience.

The new Samsung Galaxy Z series became available in Puerto Rico beginning Aug. 7 at Claro locations and through the company’s online store.
