Kia Launches Redesigned 2027 Telluride in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN — Kia Puerto Rico unveiled the completely redesigned 2027 Kia Telluride, introducing the second generation of its flagship three-row SUV under the local campaign concept “Luxury and Adventure.”

The new Telluride expands on the model’s emphasis on family comfort while adding more performance, technology, safety features and off-road capability.

Kia said the redesign reflects a broader vision of luxury that goes beyond sophistication, combining premium amenities with the flexibility to explore different environments and driving conditions.

The 2027 Telluride arrives in Puerto Rico in four configurations: S, X-Line LQ4XL1-27, X-Line LQ4XL2-27 and X-Pro LQ4XP1-27.

All versions are powered by a new 2.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 274 horsepower and 311 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The S trim is offered with front-wheel drive, while the X-Line and X-Pro versions feature all-wheel drive.

More Premium Interior Options

Interior treatments vary by trim.

The S includes black SynTex upholstery, while the X-Line and X-Pro offer Premium Nappa Leather, available in black or a Black & Millstone combination on the X-Line LQ4XL2-27.

Exterior color options include Ebony Black, Glacier White Pearl, Panthera Metal and Midnight Lake Blue. X-Line and X-Pro variants add exclusive finishes including Terrain Brown, Terrain Brown Matte, Black Jade Green, Wolf Gray and Ivory Silver.

Wheel sizes also vary by configuration: 20 inches on the S, 21 inches on the X-Line and 18 inches on the X-Pro.

The X-Pro is positioned as the most adventure-oriented version, adding all-terrain tires, an electronic limited-slip differential, Terrain Mode and a dedicated suspension setup designed to improve off-road capability.

Expanded Technology and Safety

The redesigned Telluride introduces Kia’s latest connected-car technology, including the ccNC system, available 12.3-inch panoramic displays, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Driver-assistance features include Lane Following Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, among other technologies.

Kia also increased occupant protection with 10 airbags, including a new front-center airbag, as well as a radar-based Rear Occupant Alert system.

“Since its launch in 2019, the Kia Telluride has established itself as one of the most successful family SUVs in the market,” said Abiezer Rodríguez, commercial director for Kia Puerto Rico. “We are confident that this new generation will further strengthen our position and continue attracting families looking for space, technology, safety and versatility.”

Rodríguez said the fully redesigned model is intended to build on the Telluride’s track record while moving the nameplate further into the premium family SUV segment.
