Banco Popular is expanding its investment in business banking technology with the launch of Popular Business Access (PBA), a digital platform designed to give companies greater control over their finances and banking operations as the island’s largest lender seeks to deepen its relationship with commercial clients.

The new platform becomes part of the bank’s Popular Business Solutions suite and is aimed at helping Puerto Rico businesses manage their financial operations more efficiently through a single digital channel available around the clock.

Popular said the initiative reflects its ongoing strategy of using technology to support entrepreneurs and business owners facing increasingly complex operational demands. The platform allows customers to access account balances and transactions, process payments and transfers, manage collections, and implement security controls through a web-based or mobile experience.

“Business owners constantly face new challenges, and their time is one of the most valuable resources for growing their companies,” Jorge García Noya, first vice president of Business Banking at Popular, said in a statement on Thursday. “We continue investing in technological solutions that simplify their operations and allow them to focus on their priorities.”

The launch comes as financial institutions across Puerto Rico and the broader banking industry accelerate digital transformation efforts, seeking to meet growing demand from businesses for remote banking capabilities, enhanced security features and greater operational flexibility.

According to Popular, PBA incorporates multifactor authentication and fraud-related alerts, while also providing companies with the ability to establish different approval and access levels for authorized users. Business customers can generate financial reports and monitor banking activity even when owners or executives are traveling outside Puerto Rico.

The bank said the platform also enables businesses to bundle banking tools and services into packages tailored to their operational requirements, an approach intended to streamline administrative processes and improve financial management.

The latest investment underscores Popular’s continued focus on the commercial banking segment, a key market for the institution. By expanding its digital offerings, the bank is positioning itself to address growing demand among small and medium-sized enterprises as well as larger corporate clients for integrated online banking services.

Popular noted that the products and services offered through Popular Business Access and Popular Business Solutions are subject to monthly and transaction-volume fees, depending on the services selected by customers.

The bank said additional information about the platform is available through its commercial banking channels and at Popular’s business banking website.
