More than 130 exhibitors, representing 71 municipalities, along with crafts, cuisine, sports competitions, and artists such as Jowell y Randy, El Gran Combo, and Pedro Capó will headline the seventh edition of the Great Domestic Tourism Fair.
For the first time, the event will take place in Puerto Rico’s Porta del Sol region at the Boquerón Beach Resort in Cabo Rojo, showcasing the island’s tourism, culture, gastronomy, crafts, sports, and entertainment.
Organized by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (CTPR), the fair will be will be held on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight. Visitors can explore exhibits from all 71 featuring municipalities, browse offering from more than 130 exhibitors and CTPR-certified companies, shop at an expansive artisan market, and enjoy a diverse selection of culinary offerings from local food vendors and restaurants.
“As part of our ministerial duty and Governor Jenniffer González Colón’s commitment, we continue to promote initiatives that encourage more Puerto Ricans to discover and enjoy all that our island has to offer. The Great Domestic Tourism Fair has become an extraordinary opportunity to discover new destinations, support our municipalities, and strengthen small and medium-sized tourism businesses, while families enjoy an experience that brings together tourism, culture, cuisine, sports, and entertainment all in one place.” said Willianette Robles Cancel, executive director of the Tourism Company.
Robles Cancel noted that bringing the event to the island’s western region for the first time reflects the agency’s ongoing efforts to promote domestic tourism while highlighting the attractions of Porta del Sol.
For his part, the mayor of Cabo Rojo, Jorge A. Morales Wiscovitch, welcomed visitors to enjoy the municipality’s tourist attractions.
“We are very pleased that Cabo Rojo is hosting the Great Domestic Tourism Fair for the first time. Boquerón is one of Puerto Rico’s most iconic destinations, and we want those who visit us this weekend to enjoy everything that makes our town special: our beaches, our cuisine, our culture, and the hospitality of our people.”

Beyond the musical performances, attendees will be able to discover the tourist attractions from municipalities across the island, explore new travel destinations, stroll through a market featuring dozens of certified artisans, and sample a wide range of culinary offerings from restaurants, food stands, and local vendors.

The fair will also feature sand sculptures, activities for children, recreational activities, inactive experiences, and exhibits aimed at visitors of all ages.
Sports Make Their Debut
As a new feature of this year’s event, the fair will introduce a space dedicated to sports tourism with featuring four temporary sand courts for beach volleyball and beach tennis tournaments to be held.
The competitions will feature prizes for the top three finishers, official referees, athlete rest areas, hydration stations, and activations by sponsoring brands.
Transportation and Parking
The organizers announced that parking will be available inside the Boquerón Beach Resort for $5. Those who use the parking lot at the Rebekah Colberg Sports Complex will be able to take a free shuttle to the event.
Through a coordinated effort, Security will be provided involving the Tourism Company, the Municipality of Cabo Rojo, the Puerto Rico Police, the Municipal Police, the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, the Bureau of Emergency Management and Disaster Administration, the Fire Department, and private security personnel.
Now in its seventh year, the Great Domestic Tourism Fair has established become one of Puerto Rico’s leading events for promoting local tourism and giving residents the opportunity to discover the island’s rich culinary, cultural, and recreational offerings in a single destination.
