The charity event will feature top Latin artists while raising funds for humanitarian organizations supporting Venezuela’s recovery.
Puerto Rican artists Chayanne and Gilberto Santa Rosa, will join Venezuelan artists such as Corina Smith and the duo Chino y Nacho, in a charity concert to perform on August 16 in Miami to to support victims of the earthquakes that recently struck Venezuela.
The event will also feature Venezuelan artists Micro TDH, Noreh, Jerry Di, Jonathan Moly, Joaquina, Nella, and Jorge Luis Chacín, along with Hispanic American performers Isadora and Manu Manzo, according to a statement released Thursday by the coalition Unidos por Venezuela, the concert’s organizer.
This is the second batch of artists announced for the show, which will take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami starting at 6:00 p.m. local time (10:00 p.m. GMT) on the 16th and will be broadcast live.
Previously confirmed artists include: Marc Anthony, Ricardo Montaner, Feid, Jay Wheeler, Elena Rose, Silvestre Dangond, Gente de Zona, Mau y Ricky, Olga Tañón, Lasso, San Luis, Piso 21, Alleh, Zhamira Zambrano, and Enrique Santos.
Organizers said attendees will be able to contribute through multiple donation platforms and QR codes available during the event.
In addition to musical performances, the concert will include reports on the rescue efforts, the work of organizations on the ground, and testimonies from survivors, to help the public understand the magnitude of the disaster.
On June 24, Venezuela was struck by a pair of earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, that primarily affected the cities of Caracas and La Guaira in the northern part of the Caribbean nation.
At least 5,398 people have died and 16,740 have been injured, according to the latest official figures released by Venezuelan authorities.
According to Unidos por Venezuela, the funds raised during the concert “will be managed by renowned international humanitarian organizations to address the needs that will arise during the various phases of recovery.”
