The recognition is based on millions of real-world network tests conducted during the first half of 2026.
San Juan- Claro Puerto Rico has once again been recognized by Ookla®, the global leader in connectivity intelligence and network performance testing, as the provider of the Best Fixed Network in Puerto Rico, earning the Best Fixed Network, Fastest Fixed Network, and Best Gaming Experience awards for its home internet service.
The company also received the Best 5G Video Experience award for its mobile network, reinforcing its leadership in delivering high-quality connectivity experiences.
The honors are part of the Ookla® Speedtest Awards™, based on millions of consumer-initiated Speedtest® results collected between January and June 2026. The evaluation measured network performance across key metrics including speed, latency, and overall user experience under real-world conditions.
“When customers ask who offers the best internet service in Puerto Rico, the answer should be backed by data,” said Enrique Ortiz de Montellano, President and Chief Executive Officer of Claro Puerto Rico. “These recognitions confirm that Claro delivers the island’s best fixed network, with symmetrical speeds of up to 1 Gbps download and 1 Gbps upload, while our Best 5G Video Experience award reflects the quality of our mobile network.”
According to Ookla, the Best Fixed Network award evaluates overall network performance, while Fastest Fixed Network recognizes the highest speeds among the island’s major fixed internet providers. The Best Gaming Experience award highlights low latency and network stability, both critical for online gaming.
Claro said the recognition reflects its continued investment in expanding its fiber-optic infrastructure, which now reaches more than 750,000 homes and businesses across Puerto Rico, while also strengthening its 5G network.
“Every investment we make is focused on delivering the best connectivity experience for our customers and building the digital infrastructure needed to support Puerto Rico’s economic growth,” Ortiz de Montellano said. “These awards demonstrate leadership backed by real-world data.”
