For immediate humanitarian needs and longer-term recovery efforts in affected communities

With search and recovery teams racing against the clock to find survivors in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Colombia on Aug. 10, Evertec is among those answering the call to help the people of the South American country.
Evertec has established a $250,000 emergency relief fund to support the people of Colombia.
As part of this effort, Evertec will contribute the funds to selected nonprofit and humanitarian relief organizations supporting communities affected by the earthquakes. The contribution will help address both immediate and longer-term needs, including emergency assistance, recovery efforts, and support for impacted individuals and families.
“Colombia is an important part of Evertec’s story and our presence across Latin America,” said Mac Schuessler, president and CEO Evertec in a statement. “We know that recovery will take time, and through this contribution, we hope to provide meaningful support to individuals, families and communities as they begin to rebuild.”
Evertec is a financial technology and payments company in Latin America and the Caribbean, with headquarters in San Juan.
Evertec has had operations in Colombia since 2015, with offices in Bogotá and Medellín and a local team of over 550 employees.
Industry group seeks water bill credits and renewed consideration of sales tax relief on prepared foods as restaurants face additional expenses to remain operational.
The investment will target digital, energy, and transportation projects while supporting U.S. economic growth and job creation.
