The company announced that its products are now available at more than 50 retail locations.
SAN JUAN — Smart home security brand Kwikset is strengthening its footprint in Puerto Rico through a strategic commercial relaunch that significantly expands its retail presence across the island in partnership with Sajo McCann.
The company announced that its products are now available at more than 50 retail locations, including National Lumber Yard stores and leading hardware retailers throughout Puerto Rico.
Rather than entering the market for the first time, the initiative represents a strategic expansion designed to increase the brand’s reach and strengthen its connection with Puerto Rican consumers. The relaunch builds on work that began during the second half of 2025 between Kwikset and Sajo McCann.
As part of the strategy, Kwikset now operates with a fully localized business model, including on-island management, a dedicated distribution center and an e-commerce platform offering direct home delivery.
Sajo McCann said its role has centered on helping the brand better understand Puerto Rican consumers and tailoring its market approach accordingly.
“This announcement confirms that there are no small clients or secondary markets—only small ideas when the right strategy is missing,” a Sajo McCann spokesperson said. “When a brand and its agency commit to long-term planning and develop a deep understanding of the consumer, the result is sustainable growth.”
The expanded retail presence is expected to make Kwikset’s smart locks and home access solutions more accessible to homeowners across Puerto Rico.
According to Sajo McCann, the strategy focuses on the needs of families purchasing their first home, homeowners replacing aging locks and consumers seeking greater security for their households.
The relaunch also comes as Puerto Rico continues to face economic challenges. Citing proprietary consumer research, the agency noted that six out of 10 Puerto Ricans view the island’s economy as poor or very poor, while average household monthly budgets have declined this year.
Against that backdrop, Kwikset’s expanded investment signals confidence in Puerto Rico’s market and underscores the company’s long-term commitment to local consumers.
