Puerto Rico continues to strengthen its position as a manufacturing hub with the announcement of a new multimillion-dollar industrial operation in Humacao focused on consumer, medical, and hygiene products.

Governor Jenniffer González Colón announced the establishment of Onovexa LLC alongside Department of Economic Development and Commerce Secretary Sebastián Negrón Reichard and Jorge “Tato” González Camp, CEO of OLEIN Recovery Corporation. The project represents a total investment of $36.2 million and is expected to generate 203 direct jobs in Puerto Rico’s eastern region.

The company will operate from a 135,500-square-foot industrial complex in Humacao and will focus on the manufacturing and packaging of medical-grade absorbent products and hygiene solutions. Production will include wet wipes, disinfectants, pre-moistened products, cleaning supplies, personal care items, and veterinary-market products, all designed to comply with FDA regulatory standards.

According to officials, the project integrates advanced manufacturing technology, industrial infrastructure modernization, warehousing, and distribution capabilities into a single operation intended to serve Puerto Rico, the mainland United States, and Latin American markets.

“This investment reflects Puerto Rico’s continued ability to attract and expand advanced manufacturing operations while creating quality jobs for our people,” González Colón said during the announcement.

The operational model includes multiple manufacturing lines dedicated to wet wipes, plastic bottles, and compostable products. Initial projections estimate the production of approximately 20 million wet wipe units and 50 million absorbent-product units.

Governor Jenniffer González Colón speaks with employees and company representatives during the announcement of Onovexa LLC’s new $36.2 million manufacturing and packaging operation in Humacao, a project expected to create 203 direct jobs and further expand Puerto Rico’s industrial manufacturing sector.
