Gómez Hermanos is entering a new phase under full family ownership after Víctor M. Gómez III acquired Paulson Puerto Rico’s entire equity stake in Gómez Hermanos Paulson, the companies have announced.

The deal gives Gómez full ownership of the automotive organization and formally ends a strategic partnership that helped expand and strengthen the business over the past several years. During the alliance, the company consolidated its market position, reinforced leading industry brands, and broadened its portfolio through new business opportunities and acquisitions.

With the transaction complete, the company will return to operating under the Gómez Hermanos name. The move positions the business for its next stage of growth, supported by more than seven decades of family ownership history and an established presence in Puerto Rico’s automotive sector.

“This decision represents far more than a corporate transaction. It is a reaffirmation of our confidence in Puerto Rico and in the future of this company. By once again consolidating ownership within our family, we honor the legacy of those who built Gómez Hermanos and embrace the responsibility of leading it into a new era of growth, innovation, and development. Our commitment remains unchanged: to invest in our people, serve our customers with excellence, and continue contributing to Puerto Rico’s economic progress. The best chapters of our story are still to be written,” said Víctor M. Gómez III.

Paulson Puerto Rico said the transaction represents a successful realization of its investment and highlighted the progress achieved during the partnership.

“This transaction represents a successful realization of our investment in Gómez Hermanos. At Paulson Puerto Rico, we identify opportunities, drive growth, and create long-term value — and this partnership delivered on all three. The organization that exits this process is stronger, better capitalized, and better positioned than the one we invested in. Working alongside Víctor has been a privilege — his business acumen, personal integrity, and long-term thinking made this partnership both productive and straightforward. We are grateful to all our stakeholders, especially the employees whose efforts drove that result, and wish Víctor and the Gómez family every success going forward,” said Rafael Cedeño Paulson.

The companies said the ownership change will not affect day-to-day operations or existing commitments to customers, employees, suppliers, manufacturers, and business partners.

Gómez Hermanos and Paulson Puerto Rico said they will continue executing their respective business strategies while contributing to Puerto Rico’s economic development through their areas of operation.
