A Summit of Possibilities

San Juan-The ballroom of the Sheraton Puerto Rico Resort & Casino became a gathering place for many of Puerto Rico’s most influential business and government leaders during the Caribbean Business Summit.

The program opened with remarks from Governor Jennifer González and continued with an engaging and deeply inspiring fireside chat (See Cover Story P. 10) between Popular, Inc. Executive Chairman Richard L. Carrión and VRM Companies President and CEO Rafael Rojo. Their conversation set the tone for a day focused on leadership, resilience, and the opportunities shaping Puerto Rico’s future.

Throughout the day, executives and policymakers explored some of the island’s most pressing economic issues, including energy, tourism, private equity, real estate, manufacturing, telecommunications, and infrastructure. The agenda brought together a remarkable cross-section of leaders, from House and Senate leadership and the Secretary of Economic Development and Commerce to prominent voices from banking, construction, energy, and other key sectors.

The result was a full day of insightful conversations, thoughtful debate, and meaningful exchange. More importantly, it fostered a sense of optimism that resonated throughout the event. Participants acknowledged the challenges ahead while expressing confidence in Puerto Rico’s ability to build on its strengths and seize new opportunities.

Perhaps the revival of an iconic journalistic institution serves as a fitting symbol of the island’s momentum, and of a future that appears increasingly bright.
