There is still time to be part of Caribbean Business’s 40 Under 40 list. The publication has extended the nomination period for its program recognizing young leaders who are driving Puerto Rico’s economy, and nominations for the 2027 edition will remain open through Friday, Nov. 13.

Candidates who are 40 or younger and live anywhere in Puerto Rico may be nominated by others or apply on their own. Selection criteria include leadership, innovation, and achievements or significant impact in their field. The application page, at caribbean.business/40under40, lists the required documents and the steps to follow.

“This is an opportunity to highlight the people behind each company or brand who are pillars of their organizations. Being part of the select group of 40 Under 40 is a great distinction, and we are very motivated to share their success stories,” said Philipe Schoene, editor of Caribbean Business.

The list gives visibility to people who often build companies in a small market with limited capital, and that visibility can matter as much as the honor itself. For the executives who will shape the island’s next decade, being recognized alongside peers from every sector creates a network that can outlast any single award.

A jury will review the profiles over the coming months and announce the honorees in early 2027. The honorees will be featured in a special print supplement with the February 2027 edition of Caribbean Business, and the publication will host a major event to celebrate the careers of the honorees.

Nominees may come from fields including business, finance, technology, health, education, communications, entertainment, tourism, manufacturing, trade, creative industries, nonprofits, entrepreneurship and other areas.

Yamil Ruiz, chief executive and president of Vision News Media, said the recognition “serves as a major platform for visibility and a motivational benchmark for those who want to create and start businesses.”
