A casino that has been part of Ponce’s entertainment scene for 34 years is betting on a new generation of visitors. The property at the Hilton Ponce Golf & Casino Resort, which the company describes as the oldest casino in southern Puerto Rico, now operates as Ponce Royale Casino, a brand meant to feel more contemporary to younger players and first-time guests.
The renaming, announced Oct. 29, replaces the former name, Casino at Ponce Hilton, with a more contemporary and sophisticated image meant to strengthen the casino’s position in the entertainment industry and connect with new generations of visitors. The company says the change keeps the essence and tradition that have distinguished the casino over the years.
“Ponce Royale Casino represents an important step in the evolution of an establishment that, for the past 34 years, has been part of the history and tourism development of the city of Ponce. As a Puerto Rican company with deep roots in Ponce, we are proud to keep investing in the growth and transformation of our businesses. This new identity reflects our vision for the future and our commitment to strengthening the entertainment offering in the south of the island,” said Martín Guzmán, CEO of Destilería Serrallés, the company that owns the casino.
With 34 years of history, the casino has become part of Ponce’s tourism and entertainment offering. It currently has more than 290 games and employs 70 people, contributing to economic activity in the region. The new identity marks a new stage in its evolution, aimed at strengthening its position as an entertainment destination and reaffirming its ties to the city and its visitors.
